Mickella Lewis-Purvis

Bio

Mickella has worked in fundraising for over 20 years both in an employed and voluntary capacity. She spent her early career as an Events Fundraiser at the British Red Cross, specialising in high value and then challenge events. She then took a career break to travel and work in South America and returned to the sector in 2005, this time specialising in Trusts and Grants fundraising. Her experience covers international development, human rights, youth causes and health. She has held management positions at Y Care International, The Equal Rights Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust. She has also volunteered for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) to support their growth and sustainability. She is currently in a strategic role at Mind, the mental health charity, to support the network of local Minds to grow their Trusts and grants income. Mickella is a learning and development champion and seeks out roles and projects that give her the scope to use her skills to support others to grow and realise their potential. She is also keen to support and promote careers in fundraising and in the wider charity sector to all. This inspired her to join the Institute of Fundraising Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
