Bio

As Head of New Media at Comic Relief, then the UK’s most innovative event fundraising charity, Martin was responsible for the introduction of digital media and technologies into events like Red Nose Day and Sport Relief.

He established the use of mobile donations, social media and all aspects of digital marketing for fundraising and campaigning. He led growth in digital revenues from £400,000 to £40 million, including delivering the first mobile/ SMS fundraising activities for the UK charity sector in 2001.

In 2008 he co-founded HomeMade Digital, an award-winning fundraising, technology and optimisation agency partnering with NGOs around the world. Currently teams in the UK, Australia and New Zealand help large and innovative clients achieve more of their mission. HomeMade's donor experiences, campaign strategy, robust and secure tech plus engaging creative have seen it enable clients to raise over £1bn.

Martin is an expert in digital engagement, fundraising and integrated communication with unrivalled experience supporting large media-driven appeals.
