Juan Mones holds an MBA as well as a degree in communications. His nonprofit career began with Plan International, assisting in implementing community development projects with the indigenous communities of Ecuador, after which he spent time with Greenpeace Argentina, developing the organisation’s online fundraising strategy. In 2001, Juan cofounded the nonprofit Res Non Verba (RNV). At RNV, he was able to harness his passion for new technologies by using them to empower management and impact social enterprises. Since then, Juan has worked with Idealistas.org, a global network of more than one million users that seeks to improve and facilitate connections between people who want to convert their good intentions into actions, and with SOS Children’s Villages as Fundraising and Communications Director for Latin America. Following three and a half years as Fundraising Manager for UNICEF in Colombia, Juan now works at the organisation’s headquarters in Geneva, leading the global fundraising innovation programme.
