Bio

Bushra is an experienced charity sector leader and former Chair of the Small Charities Coalition, named by Charity Times as one of the 15 most inspiring leaders to look out for on #IWD22.

She is a shortlisted nominee for the National Diversity Awards 2023 for Positive role model for Gender and a nominee for Top 50 influential Muslims in Europe.

She is a Trustee of Lloyds Bank Foundation and National Council of Women GB, sits on other national and local charity boards and is a member of the Survivors Advisory Forum at National Emergencies Trust.

Bushra founded West Croydon Voice, after her family business was destroyed in the 2011 Riots, to
successfully fight for millions of pounds of compensation for the victims.
She is a business woman, strategic consultant and community activist, with over 25 years of experience in governance, finance and community engagement.

Bushra is a highly respected public speaker, a sponsor and mentor and uses her lived experience expertise to advise on fundraising, volunteering and social justice issues around diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural intelligence.
