Margaret Clift has been Head of Development at National Museums Scotland since 2015. In that time she completed the successful £80 million campaign to transform the National Museum of Scotland and delivered an award-winning campaign to raise £1.98 million to save the Galloway Hoard for the nation. Prior to joining National Museums Scotland she held senior fundraising roles in higher education and voluntary sector organisations, including the University of Edinburgh, Capability Scotland and Amnesty International UK. She has been a speaker and trainer for the Institute of Fundraising and CASE, an Advisory Panel member of Rogare, the fundraising think tank, and is a Board Member for Classics Association Scotland.

On 17 March, the Coronavirus outbreak caused National Museums Scotland to close our museums. In this session, I’ll talk about individual giving in lockdown: how we have repositioned our Membership programme and deepened engagement, paving the way for a new approach to individual giving.
