Dana Segal is a fundraising and management consultant. Having started her career in the arts & cultural sector, she has grown her portfolio to include INGOs, NGOs and other organisations across the UK, Europe and Africa including UNICEF, World Animal Protection, Afrobarometer and Historic England. Dana was one of the inaugural AF&P Fundraising Fellows, and holds a PG Cert in Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy from the University of Leeds. Aaron begun his fundraising journey in 2012 shortly after his younger brother passed away. This begun with him setting up a tribute fund for the NSPCC’s Childline service which would later be branded ‘The Liam Charity’ and took the shape of a Fundraising Group. His initial target was £10,000 but with the support and stewardship from his Community Fundraiser and a growing passion for the cause his fundraising currently stands at £235,000. Not only this Aaron has been and advocate for the service, representing the organination on many campaigns and on TV as well as sharing the work of the NSPCC in his local Community.

Camille has over 7 years’ fundraising experience, beginning her career as a telephone fundraiser where her love for supporters began. She then went on to work within Training, Compliance & Quality Control at the British Red Cross, inspiring thousands of dialogue fundraisers, before moving to her current role as Supporter Experience Project Lead. Her biggest success to date is leading on BRC’s first EVER Supporter Celebration Week! Eeek! When she isn’t working to deliver the ultimate Supporter Experience, she advocates for giving BAME women a seat at the table. She’s a keen public speaker- passion and drive saw her win SOFFI’s ‘I Wish I’d thought of that’ 2019, receiving sector-wide recognition. She enjoys being front and centre – after all, Beyoncé is her inspiration. When not geeking out over supporters/Beyoncé, she spends her spare time completing Buzzfeed quizzes like ‘what type of bread are you?’

I’ll be talking about my top tips for conversation, why dialogue fundraising is not and will never be dead (IMO) and how we can begin to reimagine what dialogue looks like. There are so many ways to communicate and with the rise of digital fundraising & social media, I wonder if we are losing one of the oldest forms. Surely, they can exist side by side. From my beginnings as a telephone fundraiser, face to face fundraising & beyond, all I’ve learnt along the way has come together to help me in understanding supporters better and building my confidence as a fundraiser. KENNETH FOREMAN

Head of Charities at London Marathon Events

Following his early career in technology start-ups and a digital agency, Kenneth moved in to fundraising by joining Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2014 to lead their sporting event team. In the 4 years he was at the organization the income from events increased by 300% with a focus on relationship fundraising and award winning campaigns, such as Running Down Dementia. In 2018 Kenneth then joined London Marathon Events to lead a new team focused on working with over 2000 charity partners across some of the world’s greatest mass participation events including the world’s greatest marathon the Virgin Money London Marathon that since its inception has raised more than £1 billion for good causes.

As our impact on the environment becomes a more pressing issue, Kenneth will talk us through how sustainability has become ingrained in the culture of London Marathon Events.
