Dan Shephard is Principal of The Shephard Group, which provides training and coaching services focusing on the skillsets most valuable to frontline fundraisers. His training focuses on the intersection of major gifts and planned gifts and is based on the philosophy that, from the donor’s perspective, they’re one and the same. Dan’s goal is to teach the frontline fundraiser to become an effective charitable gift planner. A fundraising professional since 1986, Dan has served as Planned Giving Director for the Florida State University Foundation, Director of Development for the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, Director of Gift Planning for The Citadel Foundation, and Director of Development for the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Dan has taught hundreds of fundraising professionals the tools and techniques he will share with us today.
