Bio

Jim Clifford leads Sonnet Advisory & Impact, which helps Government, Private and Social Sector organisations to understand and plan for their impact, measure and report upon it, and deliver it through improved operational effectiveness and strategic approaches, and through other structural and transactional approaches (including social investment provision – for which he was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours in June 2013).

The author of over 200 Impact Evaluation studies, he blends his professional work in the UK and Europe with academic research and lecturing. He was the lead author of, and joint chair of the group that developed, for the GECES, the EU Impact Measurement standards, which are now embodied in secondary legislation. ESG has also developed and become more prominent over the last decade, and has benefited from the development of social and environmental impact measurement and improvements in inclusive governance. Jim has advised various social sector clients on ESG approaches.

A recent was co-developing an ESG framework for Hyde Housing Group, and an impact outline and ESG framework for a new Shared Ownership housing fund, as well as a responsible investing impact framework for private equity house focused on healthcare innovation.
